Club Kuwepo: Black Culture Club

Kuwepo is of the Swahili language meaning “to exist.” The name Kuwepo is also a statement that loudly proclaims that black students exist on the campus of Oral Roberts University. Students of ORU are daily becoming, being, and arising in God through the creativity that God has granted us. The idea of this club was created out of a place for students of color to be recognized and represented in a way that makes all feel welcomed and non excluded. Club Kuwepo is a club that stands a bridge to unite all in a journey of understanding through creativity and fun. Black culture is very broad and has in no way halted within history books. Culture changes from one generation to the next. Black culture is no different. Join us to be a part of discovering the history and present of a culture so uniquely different, yet so beautiful.
